Simplify Phone Number Porting with Enfonica’s Port-In Tool

Porting phone numbers between providers can often be a complex and time-consuming process. However, with Enfonica’s port-in tool, managing phone number transfers has never been easier. Whether you’re migrating 1300, 1800, virtual mobile numbers, or local numbers, Enfonica streamlines the porting experience, giving you greater control and complete transparency.

In this guide, we’ll walk you through how Enfonica’s port-in tool simplifies the process, what information is required to port a number, and the expected timeframes for different number types.

How the porting process works

Enfonica’s port-in tool, available in the Enfonica Console, provides a seamless way to transfer your phone numbers. Here’s how it works:

  1. Submit a port request. Use the Enfonica Console to submit a valid port request under Phone Numbers > Port-in requests.
  2. Pre-provisioning of numbers. Enfonica pre-provisions the phone numbers in your project, marking them as “Pending Activation.”
  3. Submission to the upstream carrier. Enfonica submits the port request on your behalf.
  4. Carrier approval or rejection. The current provider will either approve or reject the request:
    • If rejected, Enfonica will work with you to resolve the issue and resubmit.
    • If approved, the cutover process will begin.
  5. Cutover process. The timing of the cutover depends on the number type:
    • Local numbers (DIDs): A scheduled cutover date and time will be provided. The porting will occur within a one-hour window.
    • Inbound numbers (13/1300/1800) and virtual mobile numbers: The numbers will be ported immediately upon approval unless a scheduled cutover is requested.
  6. Completion of porting. Once the cutover is complete, Enfonica will notify you. The “Pending Activation” tag will be removed, and billing will commence.

Porting requirements

To ensure a smooth porting process, you’ll need to provide the following details when submitting a port request:

  • Current provider and account number
  • Authorized contact and entity details
  • List of numbers to be ported
  • A recent invoice (no older than 60 days)
  • Signed Port Authorization Form (PAF)
  • For pre-paid mobiles: owner’s date of birth

Providing accurate and complete information helps prevent delays and rejections.

Porting timeframes
